Sealed bids will be received for the Board of Supervisors of Jasper County, Mississippi in the Jasper County, Courthouse Building, Bay Springs, MS until 10:00 A.M. on the 1st day of March, 2021 and shortly thereafter opened for the repair to flood damaged bridge on County Road 1133 under County Project No. 31-19-01. The principal item of work is approximately 368 cubic yards of fill material and 225 tons of riprap placed on the eroded bridge abutments and road shoulder.


The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of unit prices and quantities in the contract documents. Actual work quantities performed shall be based on availability of local funds. Work may be added or deleted from the contract to better match funding and needs.

The attention of the BIDDER is directed to the State and Federal laws governing selection of and employment of labor. The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or natural origin in consideration for an award.

SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the Project Engineer, Laurel, Mississippi. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest publications of the MISSISSIPPI STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR STATE AID ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION. PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Lawrence R. Clark, P.E., Project Engineer, via the use of his website, By use of the website the plan holders shall have the option of obtaining hard copy of the Plans and Specifications and/or shall have the opportunity to submit an official bid online

Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to Jasper County must accompany each proposal. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities.
