ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given that the City of Starkville, Mississippi will receive sealed bids for the construction of improvements planned as part of the Starkville High School Bridge Replacement Project, Project No. ERBR-53-420 (02). Bids will be received at the Office of the City Clerk until
9:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, and can be submitted through the online plan review provider (www.cityofstarkvilleplans.org) or can be emailed to bids@cityofstarkville.org. All bids so received will be opened publicly, read aloud and taken under advisement until the next meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The Starkville Mayor and Board of Aldermen meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 5:30 p.m. local time in the Courtroom at City Hall, Main Street, Starkville, Mississippi.

Bid documents are being made available via paper copy. Plan holders are required to register for an account at https://www.cityofstarkvilleplans.org to view and order Bid Documents. All plan holders are required to have a valid email address for registration. Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder’s Bond issued by a surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the City of Starkville as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. All contractors responding to this advertisement for bids must comply with all applicable requirements of Chapters 3 and 5 of Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

The bid opening will be held in the City Clerk’s Conference Room of the 1st floor of City Hall. Interested persons are invited to attend.

The City of Starkville hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women’s business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual preference, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status in consideration for an award.

The proposal and contract documents in its entirety shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited in the offices of the Starkville City Hall, 110 West Main Street, Starkville, MS 39759, prior to the hour and date above designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date of actual bid opening, without consent of the City. The City of Starkville reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, or to accept any bid which is deemed most favorable to the City.
