Sealed, written formal bid proposals will be received by JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, at 1025 Third Street, Prentiss, Mississippi 39474 at 11:00 a.m. (Local Prevailing Time) on March 23, 2021, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for the J.E. JOHNSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL REHABILITATION project.

The Jefferson Davis County School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities, also to withhold the acceptance of any bid if approved, for forty-five calendar days from the date bids are opened.

All Contractors who intend to submit “BIDS” are encouraged to attend the NONĀ­ MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE at the JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, 1025 THIRD STREET, PRENTISS MS 39474 on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10, 2021 at 1:00PM.

Failure to attend the pre bid conference will not result in rejection of submitted proposals.

All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or a Bid Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Mississippi.

The successful bidder will be allowed 240 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed to complete the project. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000.00 per day for each calendar day the work is not substantially complete.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and a Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Mississippi, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount.
