SECTION 900 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Bidders shall submit their bids either in a sealed envelope or electronically. Electronic bids will be recieved at www.copiahcountybids.org and shall include a copy of their Certificate of Responsibility as an attachment to the electronic bid. Sealed bids and electronic bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Copiah County in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, until 10:00 O’Clock A.M., May 10, 2021, and shortly thereafter publicly opened for the construction of 0.179 miles of Bridge and Approaches on and John I. Hay Road in Copiah County, also known as Local System Bridge Project No. LSBP-15(18).

Entire Project – 60 Working Days

BASIS OF AWARD: The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities. The attention of the BIDDER is directed to the State and Federal laws governing selection of and employment of labor.

The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into, pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.

Total Contract Time as Advertised: 60 working Days

Plans and Specifications are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk, Copiah County, Hazlehurst, Mississippi, and in the Office of the State Aid Engineer, 412 Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi. Paper and electronic copies of the plans and proposals may be ordered at www.copiahcountybids.org

Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Copiah County and the State of Mississippi must accompany each proposal.

Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letter qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.
