Notice is hereby given that the City of Gulfport will receive sealed bids until Ten O’clock a.m., Local Time, June 18, 2021 at the Office of Procurement, 1410 24th Avenue, 2nd Floor Hardy Bldg., Gulfport, MS 39501 forthe Lyman Community Center Repair Construction Project (also referred to as the “Lyman Community Center Moisture Mitigation Repair Project”).

This project involves reworking of the existing standing seam metal roof, to include, but not be limited to, installation and replacement of worn out fasteners, washer connections, etc. that are causing moisture infiltration issues, as well as providing an increased roof slope on the lower roof areas to improve drainage and transitioning to other metal building components, downspouts, etc. to allow water to exit the building structure properly.

This project also involves replacement of exterior existing stucco type material with a proper multi-layer stucco system that will provide an aesthetic long-term exterior finish in select areas.

Bidding documents are available via paper copy or PDF for a charge of $100 (hard copy) or $75 (digital) Plan House Printing- Gulfport, MS. The cost for the bidding documents is non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate on form provided and accompanied by a Bid Bond or Security in an amount equal to at least 5% of the amount of the submitted Base Proposal. Such security to be forfeitedas liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the accepted Bid and/or execute the Contract and Post Performance and Payment Bond as required within the time specified.

For bids exceeding $50,000.00, Bidder must indicate his Certificate of Responsibility Number on the outside of sealed proposal as required by Mississippi Law. Effective July 1, 2010; Per MS Code 31-3-21(3);any bid submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor’s currentstate law pertaining to such state’s treatment of nonresident contractors, shall be rejected and not considered for award. If no such law exists in the non-resident contractor’s state, then the non-resident contractor may provide a statement to that effect.

The project will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder. However, the owner reserves the right toaccept or reject any or all bids or to waive any informality. The successful bidder must adhere to theOwner’s policy concerning non-discrimination without regard to race, creed, color, age, sex, nationalorigin or handicap.

The City of Gulfport reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities ifdeemed to be in the best interest of the City of Gulfport.

The owner is NOT responsible for bids which are mailed to the wrong address or which arrive in the mailafter the designated bid opening time. Bids may be delivered in person to the Owner’s office prior to the bid opening at the time, date and location listed above.

Proposals may be held by the City of Gulfport, Mississippi, for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days fromthe date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids.

Direct contact with any City employee, including the Mayor, Administration and City Council onthe subject of this bid is strictly forbidden. Violation of this paragraph will result in disqualification of your submission.
