Sealed, written formal bid proposals for the above bid will be received by the Board of Education of the Quitman County School District, in the Business Office, 1362 Martin Luther King Drive, Marks, Mississippi 38646,
until 2:00 p.m. (Local Prevailing Time) May 14, 2024, at which time and place they will be
publicly opened and read aloud.

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities, also to withhold the acceptance of any bid if approved, for forty-five calendar days from the date bids are opened.

All Contractors who intend to submit “BIDS” are encouraged to attend the MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE on April 30, 2024, at 11:00AM., at 1362 Martin Luther King Drive, Marks, Mississippi   38646.

Contract Provisions are based on guidance from the Mississippi Attorney General's Office as it relates to contracts with public entities in Mississippi and from the Mississippi Department of Education as it relates to the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) and other federal funding guidelines. Certain provisions are not subject to waiver or modification by the Owner.

All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or a Bid Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Mississippi.

Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000.00 per day for each calendar day the work is not substantially complete.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and a Payment Bond written by   a company licensed to do business in Mississippi, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount.
