NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Copiah County, Mississippi, until 10:00 O’Clock A.M., March 26, 2021 and shortly thereafter publicly opened for Roadway Overlay and Striping of various roads in Copiah County, Mississippi. Electronic bids will be received at www.copiahcountybids.org and shall include a copy of their Certificate of Responsibility as an attachment to the electronic bid. Bids received after this time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. All bids shall be clearly marked “COPIAH COUNTY OVERLAY AND STRIPING PROJECT” with the date and time of the bid opening on the outside of the sealed envelope. Each bidder shall write his Certificate of Responsibility number and Mississippi License number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing his bid.

BASIS OF AWARD: The award, if made, will be to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of the published quantities.

The attention of the BIDDER is directed to the State and Federal laws governing selection of and employment of labor.

The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into, pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this
invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.

Plans and Specifications are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk, Copiah County, Hazlehurst, Mississippi. Electronic and paper copies of plans and proposals may be ordered at www.copiahcountybids.org.

Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Copiah County, Mississippi must accompany each proposal.

Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letter qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered, will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.

Copiah County, Mississippi reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
